06/09, 6:30am: started with paste made approx 12 hours ago for 0608Stephanie. Since paste was a little too runny, I added approx 1/4tsp Zaqua Foods® brand henna powder (stale) to thicken it. Also added some sugar to see if that would make it more "stringy". Began application with homemade plastic cone.
Allowed design to dry at ambient room temperature (70-something), a process which took longer than normal (due to sugar in the paste). As the paste lost its sheen, it was misted with lemonsugar from a spray bottle.
06/09, 7:15am: gave design one last lemonsugar misting, took the "applied" photo, and proceeded with wrapping. Covered design with unrolled cotton balls, taped down with paper first-aid tape, and covered hand with plastic glove. Due to ambient warmth and humidity, fingertips were cut off of glove and vent holes were put in glove to prevent excessive perspiration buildup. All done by 7:30am, and I went to bed.
06/09, 2:00pm: Got up and immediately removed wrappings and scraped henna off, rinsing under warm water (rural area...well water...no chlorine). Took the "removed-1" photo.
06/10, 4:30am: took the "removed-2" photo, showing the darkening that has taken place over the past 26ish hours.
