Henna mixed (recipe #1 + sugar) approx 3 hours before application.
Henna was sifted through single layer of nylon pantyhose material. Believe I should have filtered paste as well, and maybe sifted henna once or twice more.
02/05/2001, 5ish am, began application with plastic cone. After completion, the lemon_juice/sugar solution was applied and allowed to dry three times. During this period, the "applied-1" picture was taken. Finally, Liquid Skin® was applied, covered with unrolled cotton balls, wrapped in surgical gauze, and covered with a plastic hand glove. All finished @ approx 8am.
02/05/2001, 4pm, removed glove, gauze, and henna. Excellent stain achieved, although paste seems to have sweated dye...lines were thicker and every line surrounded by a little outline that was darker than center of line (all lines, not just large areas). Also must beware large area coverage when a deep crease runs through it; deep creases go darker than surrounding area (sometimes...not all did so). Other than that, much better color uniformity than MJ's palm on 01/31. Henna stayed on well. Olive oil applied and "removed-1" photo taken.
02/07/2001, 10ish pm, took "removed-2" photo, showing the deep mahogany (almost black) color that has developed
02/24/2001, 5am, took "removed-3" photo. (fading to oblivion)
