Henna mixed (recipe #3) approx 36 hours before application. Same batch as 01/30 Stephanie and 01/31 MaryJo.
Paste was filtered through single layer of nylon pantyhose material due to flow problems in previous sessions with this batch.
02/01/2001, 1ish am, began application with plastic squeeze bottle. henna paste flowed really well after the nylon filtration; was nice and smooth. Plan to revert to cone for easier application now that the source of all the clogging and problems seems to be corrected. After completion, the lemon_juice/sugar solution was applied and it was heated with a blowdryer. The juice/sugar solution was reapplied and allowed to dry naturally. During this period, the "applied-1" picture was taken. Finally, Liquid Skin® was applied and the design was heated again with the blowdryer. Design area was wrapped in surgical gauze and plastic kitchen wrap.
02/01/2001, 1ish pm, removed plastic wrap and gauze; design had stayed on well during sleep. Needed to shower, so design area was wrapped in plastic wrap and taped closed. Seal wasn't the best; when out of shower, noticed that green-colored liquid was in plastic. Oops. Quickly removed wrap and immediately scraped henna off...the heat and moisture made it really easy to remove, it was totally off in a couple of minutes. Design area was oiled with olive oil, and the "removed-1" photo was taken.
02/03/2001, 3ish am: design has darkened considerably and the "removed-2" photo was taken.
