Henna mixed (recipe #3) approx. 24 hours before application.
01/30/2001, 9ish pm, began application with plastic squeeze bottle. henna slightly too lumpy for good application; need to sift henna better. It was sifted through a fine tea strainer, but should sift through nylon (i.e. ladies' hosery). After completion, design was heated with a blow dryer, then lemon_juice/sugar solution applied. the first photo was taken. Heated again, and lemon_juice/sugar re-applied. Heated again, and Liquid Skin® applied as a final sealant. Wrapped with surgical gauze and paper tape (worked *really* well) and covered with a plastic glove.
01/31/2001, noon-ish, henna was removed. as with 01/31 MaryJo, henna was still moist due to the improved wrapping. Good to excellent stain achieved.
01/31/2001, 9ish pm, second photo taken.
02/06/2001, 10:30ish pm, third photo taken, showing the fading over the past week.
